Power and Control Curly Cords – Colour Coded PUR

 

 

Our special Polyurethane sheathed Power and Control Cords are made with industrial grade Orange POLYURETHANE sheathed, EPR Rubber insulated cable.

These cords are used for a variety of power and/or control uses. These special cords are: Halogen Free, Water Resistant, UV Stable, Extreme Mechanical Resistance: Cut & Abrasion Resistant, and has Good Chemical resistance (Oils, Grease and Fuels.) .

 

This range exhibits much higher retractability or “Spring” than the standard PVC cords.

Note: Because of the large number of possible configurations available, only a small selection of these cords are usually available from stock. Most configurations and larger quantities are coiled on demand.

Typically, we do 300mm, 500mm, 1000mm, and 1800mm versions.

That is the compressed length, and they can extend out up to 4 times those lengths.

(So a 1m cord would extend to 4m)

Plus they all have additional 150mm straight tails as standard.

These types are normally ORANGE.

But we do currently have a limited amount of 3 core 1.5mm², and 2.5mm² in BLACK.

These cords are rated to extend Three to Four times the compressed length ie up to a 4:1 Ratio. And if especially wound for it, some variations can be configured to extend much further. Some up to 6:1 Ratio or more!

These types are normally ORANGE.
But we do currently have a limited amount of 3 core 1.5mm², and 2.5mm² in BLACK.

Note: Unless specifically indicated, all curly cords are supplied UNTERMINATED.

When operated in the horizontal orientation, these cords are deemed to be `Self Retracting` When operated in a vertical orientation, the weight of the cord plus the weight of the outlet or other fixture will naturally make the cord partially extend.

    Hi Captain, I need a 3 core, 2.5mm wire dia PUR Curly cord that will stretch about 1700mm, it needs to fit inside a 26mm Id tube. Is this available and if so how much? Delivery is to 2365 post code.

      Thanks for your comment/inquiry.
      We can certainly help you with a 3 core 2.5mm Polyurethane curly cord that will stretch out to 1700mm.
      The only problem is the Diameter.
      Using that cable, our coil diameter is approx 40mm
      Our cable diameter is approx 11mm, so we need more room to form the coil.
      Even 1.5mm cable would be too big when coiled.
      Can you increase the tube size?

      This range only comes in orange. Sorry.

      This combination of materials, and coiling produces some of the most “springy” cords we do for mains power.

    Greetings. Love your website so informative and a lot of happy people.

    I am looking at a long term supplier of these as i am manufacturing a product currently in its prototype stage. What i need is a curly cord that would stretch about a meter and compact as much as feasibly possible. If you have an off the shelf product that is even better. Don’t care about color just price on 10 units for now with next order about 50 with regular supply please.

      We can supply the curly cords, stainless steel wire, and Clipsal SS15 pendant outlet. They don’t come pre-terminated.
      They need to be fitted by an electrician (like yourself) 🙂

    we need 240v Pendant outlet on curly cord . I believe the cable has three Pin top on one end and lengths of the cables given are while compressed. Please advise what are the max lengths of these when extended. also, please advise the price by email. we are required to test one first and if it fits our purpose, we are required about 10 for our store . just wondering if these can be made in white color NOT orange.
